  • Overview

    Purpose:

     

    Support the Division President and the regional management team with an array of tasks ranging from administrative duties, to financial analysis, to project management, all with a focus on providing insight and efficiency opportunities to our teams in the branches. 

    Responsibilities

    Activities/Responsibilities:

     

    • Challenge processes and develop recommendations for improvements.
    • Question forecasts by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
    • Conduct variance analysis on forecasts, highlighting variances and making recommendations. 
    • Be a point of contact for and liaise with Corporate Departments.
    • Assist the business with the annual Budget process, including managing the gathering of supporting documents/guidance to Branch Managers and the process of collecting, rolling up to a regional summaries and analyzing individual branch budgets.
    • Support and represent the Division on technology initiatives and assist with implementation through testing of new systems as required.
    • Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Act as project manager for special projects.
    • Review PO/check requests for costs less than $5k.
    • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for Executive Committee, Board of Advisors, and Monthly Financial meetings, as well as for Annual Reports and 5 Year Planning.
    • Gather industry intelligence and market research from various sources.
    • Schedule and organize activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and division activities for all members of the division.
    • Establish, develop, maintain and update filing system for the Division President and the department. Retrieve information from files when needed.
    • Organize and prioritize large volumes of information and calls.
    • Draft written responses or replies by phone or e-mail when necessary. Respond to regularly occurring requests for information.
    • Other unspecified tasks that are commensurate with the level of the position as specified by management.

    Qualifications

    Skills / Capabilities:

    • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Engineering, with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
    • Experience conducting financial analytics and data modeling.
    • Strong understanding of Accounting and Finance principles.
    • Strong MS Office skills, including Word and PowerPoint
    • Advanced / Expert level Excel skills (VBA proficient is a plus).
    • Experience with Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
    • Positive attitude and aptitude for change; experience working within a dynamic and growing environment.
    • Record of displaying initiative and innovative ideas; motivated by a desire to add value and go beyond report generation, with a clear and proactive focus on growing the business in a profitable fashion.
    • Inquisitive nature.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present analysis and recommendations in verbal and written form.
    • Landscape Industry experience and horticultural knowledge are a plus.
